In today's day and age, there are a plethora of news outlets where the public can receive their daily information. From newspapers, to live tv, to social media outlets, it can be stated there are a lot of sources out there to receive the news. Personally, I absorb my news from a series of five sources. Them being Linkedin, Apple News, Instagram, TikTok, and The New York Times.
1) The first platform I want to pinpoint is, Linkedin. Linkedin is a platform for individuals to connect and grow their network, whilst also searching for careers in their field. I have been an active LinkedIn User for several years, and I can state that is one of my favorite news outlets. This is one of my favorite news outlets because whenever I opened my LinkedIn application, I am always prompted with breaking news, and alerted about what is going on in the present day. Along with the information that is conveyed, in the text box following the post, there is always a brief explanation for additional information and details regarding that news tale. I enjoy this addition because sometimes the information that is conveyed happens to be confusing, but the further explanation that is provided within the text box, always makes it easier for me to understand the newspaper, and gain a clear grasp of it.

The next platform that I will be speaking on will be,
Apple News. As an apple consumer, this is one of the top applications on my phone. I truly enjoy this news source due to the fact that I am constantly getting notified of the news that happens that exact second it is released, alerting me with captivating magazines, breaking news, audio stories, and narrated stories, which have made it easier for me to comprehend the information, and share it amongst my peers. In addition, it is a very easy app to utilize. I do not like news outlets applications that are hard to use, with apple news, all the information is laid out, and easily accessible. The constant notifications on my phone's home screen, which provide a clear headline of what the news is, and a short blurb of what the information is, have been another factor for why this news outlet is of my liking.

For the next platform, I will be highlighting
Instagram. Instagram is a popular social media app for photo and video sharing. Although I do utilize this app to connect with my friends, and share content, it is also an excellent platform for news intake. My reasoning for why I like Instagram for news is because I am being able to follow certain news outlets, and they always are getting top priority above any other content on my feed, therefore I am always alerted with breaking news right as I initially open the application. In addition to the accessibility factor, there is also always a caption with a multiple-paragraph breakdown of the news, with the dates, times, and what happened entirely. Also, I am able to share my news information with my friends on the app. I then am always able to chat and discuss the news, and inform others on the topic, even if they have not been alerted of it yet. This goes in my top three news media outlets, Instagram is a powerful tool for news intake.

The fourth news outlet that I utilize is
TikTok. TikTok is one of the largest apps in the world right now and is commonly used for videos for content creators. Although it may be mainly used for those reasons, it happens to be a valuable news source that I like. I like TikTok for its news because it is again, always a priority in my feed, so I am available and informed right as I open the application. Not only is it at the top of my feed, but it is also always in video form, which is the best way I am able to understand information that is conveyed to me. The narrator of the news story will give a full in-depth explanation of the news story, accompanied by a caption for the topic, and a link to the news story. The shareable option that you get on TikTok is favorable in the ability to share a breaking news story with others, alerting them on what is happening in the world, which is another reason why TikTok is another news outlet of my liking.

The final news outlet that I will be writing about will be,
The New York Times. As a New Yorker, this is one the best media outlets to receive news from. The New York Times happens to be one of my favorite ways to receive news due to its ability to explain and convey the most important information within the world, in such an understanding and information ability. The reads on their site are easy to comprehend, proving the consumer with fully-detailed information, and pinpointed dates and times. On top of the easily comprehended readings, there are a plethora of topics to read about, ranging from Politics, Tech, Science, etc. There is an immense amount of articles to read about consumer preference. I catch myself on The New York Times almost every day perusing several different articles, from different topics, on up-to-date news information. This will be a news outlet that will always be on my watchlist, and I recommend everyone should read up on.
